Training

The ongoing development, education and training of lifesavers is critical to ensure the highest level of service is provided on the beach.

ISLSC offers the opportunity to all volunteer lifesavers to undertake training and development commencing with Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) or Bronze Medallion (BM) progressing to more advanced lifesaving and emergency care training. Details of awards and progression pathways can be found here.

Bronze Medallion training is conducted during and intensive week long live-in camp in December each year and, depending on demand, as a casual program in late December/early January in conjunction with the Nipper SRC program. 2015 Bronze Camp pre-registrations have now closed. Check back next year for 2016 pre-registrations.

Surf Rescue Certificate training is conducted at the same time as the Nipper program in late December/early January. Candidates must be a minimum of 13 years old to participate. If you are interested in participating, refer to the page here.

Other awards training is held at various times during the season and members will be notified by of upcoming opportunities.
