From the President

Hello All,

As we approach the end of the season, we reflect on how we handled COVID 19 through some testing times, the lock down, and how lucky we were to be able to get the season up and running. We also think about what could have been and how we adapted and overcame this pandemic. I’d like to thank everyone who assisted over the summer, that saw many challenges for us all.

To celebrate the season that was we are holding Presentation Night on Easter Saturday, this allows the maximum number of members to attend as hopefully most will be in Inverloch over Easter. The night will reflect 2019/20 and 2020/21 awards as we had to postpone last year’s Presentation Night. I hope to see you all at the event to acknowledge our club champions and special honours.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Presentation Night and Club Championships, details below.

Patroller of the Month

January Patrollers of the Month

Stephen Duncan (Patrol 1)
Steve always turns up to patrol and is very keen in training multiple patrolling members in the IRB, keeping them engaged and wanting to return to their next patrols. Steve along with his sons also stepped up to help man the IRB for the whole week of nippers which is a huge commitment.

Other nominations received:
Patrol 2 - Sumith Perera
Patrol 2 - Jackson Comrie
Nick Perera (Patrol 2)
Nick has shown amazing growth throughout this season taking on the role of IRB captain on the LSOC, assisting with gear inspection and again committing to multiple PLT roles the season including Vice Patrol Captain. This also saw Nick step into the Patrol Captain role for Patrol 2's Australia Day weekend patrol. Also, assisting on the Australia Day volunteer patrol for a few hours after having already completed 2 big days. He has also helped with water safety for nippers and assisted with the SRC course in January.

February Patroller of the Month

Josh Robinson (Patrol 3)
Josh has actively sought out extra qualifications and always brings a top-notch attitude to patrol. Josh is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in patrol and is a pleasure to have on patrol.

Other nominations received:

Presentation Night Helpers Needed

This year Presentation night will be held on Saturday 3rd April. We will be combining awards from both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons and we are seeking EOI's for the following roles to help the night run smoothly!
  • Master of Ceremonies (Trust me when I say you don't want to listen to your club captain's monotone for the whole night) It's ok you won't be presenting the awards just introducing and ensuring the audience is engaged, maybe we have a few stand-up comedians in the club we don't know about.
  • Someone to assist with putting together the presentation night media, sourcing photos and assisting with the production of the PowerPoint.
  • Helpers to assist the junior club captains with setting up the room and decorating. This would be a great way to earn loads of YIPS points for those doing YIPS
If you could please let Rhys know ASAP if you are available to assist as presentation night is close. Ph: 0423 978 938 [email protected]
