Letter from the President
Hi Team,
With the AGM done and dusted, I’m pleased to accept the role of this season’s incoming President. I want to thank everybody for both the support and their good wishes. Please join me in saying a massive thank you to the outgoing Board members Warren Cook, Robert O’Neill & Teagan Thom.
This team has done an extraordinary job for the club and its members, notably navigating daily changes surrounding Covid restrictions, beach erosion and Clubhouse refurbishment.
Congratulations to the new incoming and re-elected Board Members, Nick Perera, David Morris, Angela Malan, Jono Li and our fresh additions of Ione McKenzie and Ella Arnold.
The Board got to work straight away. Following the AGM, we all spent a full day planning for the season. There was a lot to be done for the season ahead, and mapping out our activities is now well underway.
In the coming weeks and in this newsletter, you’ll notice several expressions of interest requests for various volunteer roles required to assist the club throughout the season. The club relies heavily on volunteers, and there’s something for everyone. I want to thank those who offer their valuable time to help support the club and clubhouse’s various activities and operations.
Volunteering is an extremely important element of the success and management of the club, and volunteering can be very rewarding for you. For those of you still building a career, being a volunteer can help grow and develop skills and show potential employers your diverse range of skills and your eagerness to go above and beyond.
Volunteering is also an extraordinary way to build a network of friends and contacts. We are always keen to hear from those wishing to volunteer some time, no matter how small or great. Please always feel free to reach out to me or any of the Board Members to express your interest and see how we may be able to assist you.

At the AGM we had the utmost pleasure in awarding Teagan Thom and Tarryn Thom Life Membership of ISLSC in recognition of their outstanding service and commitment over many years. Congratulations!
Club Treasurer
ISLSC is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Treasurer. This role reports to the Club’s Board and is responsible for the financial supervision and performance of the Surf Club. The Treasurer is required to regularly report on the club‘s financial status to the Board to inform decision-making, mitigate financial risk, and ensure transparency for members.
The new incumbent will be given a complete and detailed handover, training on Quikbooks if needed and support for as long as required to get comfortable with the role.
