President’s Message
Hey Team,
Knock, Knock – Who’s there? SUMMER! Woo Hoo! I’ve been reflecting on the month of achievements and progress for our club. Congratulations to Xavier Korbel and his team for their exceptional work on the ILSAR camp, which earned us the Innovation Award at the SLSA National Awards of Excellence. This recognition highlights the dedication and creativity of our members in enhancing lifesaving training and community safety.
Nippers and Starfish enrolments are nearly full, and we’re looking forward to another fun and engaging program this summer. A big thank you to the parents, carers, and volunteers who have stepped up to help make this happen. Your support is essential to the success of our programs.
The patrolling season officially begins on 23rd November, with the flags going up once again. Make sure to check the patrol roster for your schedule, and don’t forget to download the Stack Teams App to stay updated with patroller information. For those interested in joining the patrol team, it’s not too late to get involved—please reach out to our patrol manager.
Looking ahead, we have some excellent opportunities for skill-building and connection. The Mental Health Matters workshop and Patrol Leadership Team day are just around the corner, offering valuable insights and preparation for the busy season ahead. I encourage everyone to participate and make the most of these initiatives.
Thank you to everyone contributing to the smooth running of our club. I wish all our members a successful, safe, and enjoyable season ahead. Please take a moment to explore this month’s newsletter for all the latest updates and opportunities.

Important Membership Platform Update – All Members

Over the next few days, all members will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to reactivate your account. This email will be sent out to the email address we had on file for you.
If you have changed your email address recently, or if you don’t receive an email by the end of this week, please send us your new email address.

Inverloch SLSC Wins At SLSA National Awards Of Excellence
Following on from our success at the LSV Awards of Excellence, we were thrilled to be awarded the Innovation of the Year Award at the recent SLSA National Awards of Excellence. This is recognition of all the hard work and dedication from Xavier Korbel and his team in developing an initiative aimed at enhancing lifesaving training and community safety.
The ILSAR camp, Inverloch Lifesaving Search and Rescue Camp, was developed in response to gaps identified in search and rescue training. The four day program engaged members in hands on training and scenarios to enhance their teamwork and search and rescue capabilities.
Congratulations to Xavier and his team on winning this prestigious award. We look forward to seeing the return of the program in the September school holidays.

Nippers Parent & Carer Volunteer Sign-Up – Summer 24/25
To make nippers work, we really need 250 pairs of hands on deck. On average, we require each parent / carer to sign up for two (2) tasks via the link below. We currently have a pressing need for 6, 7 & 8 year old Age Group Managers, BBQ Coordinator, Bar assistants, Bakers & Social event assistants, etc. In the sign-up, there is also a wonderful incentive to volunteer at the Kiosk with Claudia. Every shift a volunteer completes during the 2 weeks of Nippers leads to a donation of $45 to the Club!
