President’s Message
Hey Team,
As we dive into the heat of the summer season, I want to extend my gratitude to each of our dedicated volunteers who have worked tirelessly to prepare the club and its programs for the busy times ahead. Your commitment and hard work do not go unnoticed, and our community’s collective effort makes Inverloch Surf Lifesaving Club truly special.
In this edition, you’ll find exciting opportunities and updates that reflect the vibrancy of our club. From employment opportunities with Wonthaggi YMCA to the Youth Involvement Program (YIPs) for our junior members, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. We are also looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team and help showcase the essence of our club on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
Goodbye Bindis, and hello to a primo location for our community gatherings, ‘Grass that it’. Remember to save the 6th of January for our 25th Season Celebrations. Tickets will be on sale shortly.
As we gear up for the Nippers season, check out the uniform and apparel shop for the latest gear, including the all-new 25th Anniversary Rugby Top, available at a special sale on December 16th and 23rd.
The Aquatic Sport and competition scene is heating up, with the Club Championships scheduled for 20th January. Save the date and come down for some friendly competition. Remember to watch upcoming local sporting events in and around Inverloch.
Lastly, Silky’s spreads the good vibes to the Surf Lifesaving Kiosk on the beach this weekend, as does The Deck Bar from Friday, bringing extra excitement to our beach experience.
Please read all the articles below for more details, and watch our social media for regular updates.
Warm Regards,
Glenn Arnold

Are you a junior member aged 13 and above?
Want to gain points and win awards and prizes for getting involved around the club?
Then YIPs is the program for you!!!
The Youth Involvement Program (YIPs) is a Life Saving Victoria initiative aimed at keeping young people engaged in all aspects of surf lifesaving. The program consists of three levels (bronze, silver and gold), with each level requiring participants to gain a certain number of points through contributing to their club and the broader surf lifesaving community (plus a community project for gold). Points can be gained across a number of categories, including lifesaving, completion and club activities. This season, we are looking forward to bringing back many of the fan-favourite YIPs events, including the annual board paddle and YIPs patrol, as well as some new events – stay tuned for more!
If you have any queries or want to find out more about the program, contact the YIPs coordinators at yips@islsc.org.au.
