From The Editor
Hey Team,
With patrol season almost behind us, April offers a welcome shift in pace—a chance to catch our breath, regroup, and start laying the groundwork for what comes next. While the beach may be quieter, there’s still plenty happening across the club.
From an inflatable youth competition to a more refined gin tasting at The Deck Bar, we’re seeing a wide range of events keeping members connected in different ways. It’s been great to see so many people continuing to engage, whether socially, operationally, or through development and competition opportunities.
We’re also turning our attention to celebration. Presentation Night is just around the corner and promises to be a real highlight—an evening to acknowledge not just patrol milestones, but the contributions made across every corner of our club.
As always, thank you to those putting in time behind the scenes—whether on the beach, running training courses, or driving new initiatives. Even as things slow down on the sand, there’s still lots going on, and we’re always keen to welcome members into new roles, big or small. Whether you’re looking to build your skills, try something different, or simply stay connected, there’s a place for you.
See you at Presentation Night.

Patroller of the Month – March
Congratulations to Lucas Jungwirth who is the patroller of the month for March. Lucas was always willing to help someone with setting up and packing down the beach and never complained when asked to do something. He is keen to develop his skills and regularly takes rescue boards out to practice and get more comfortable on them. You always look forward to having him on your rotation because he is very kind and respectful. Well done Lucas and we are lucky to have you on our beach. Keep up the good work.
Competition Update
IRB Race Team Sponsorship Opportunity
Our Inverloch IRB Racing Team is gearing up for an exciting season ahead, and we’re seeking local business sponsors to help fuel our journey. As dedicated athletes representing our community in competitive surf life saving, we’re committed to excellence, safety, and building local talent.
Why Sponsor Our Team?
- Enhanced Brand Exposure: Your business logo will feature on our race boats, team uniforms, and promotional materials, reaching a wide audience at local events and competitions right around the victorian coastline.
- Community Engagement: Partner with a team that embodies local pride and connects with families, sports enthusiasts, and community leaders.
- Support Local Talent: Your sponsorship directly contributes to improving our equipment, training, and opportunities to compete at state and national events.
- Positive Association: Align your business with a respected, hardworking team dedicated to safety, teamwork, and community growth.
We believe that by partnering with local businesses, we can elevate our team's performance and continue to make a positive impact in the community. If you know of any potential sponsors or if your business is interested in supporting us, please get in touch with Kyler Booth at competition@islsc.org.au
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us build a brighter future on and off the water!

Off-Peak Nippers Pilot Program – Term 1 Wrap-Up
Our Off-Peak Nippers pilot program officially wrapped up last week, and we’re proud to say it’s been a strong success. Over 40 nippers took part in this local nippers program at Inverloch SLSC, and it’s been great to see the level of engagement from both participants and their families.
A huge thank you to our Age Managers and volunteers. Your time and commitment made this program run smoothly, and we really appreciate the work you’ve done out on the beach each week.
Thanks also to Gippsport for their support in helping us broaden access to the program and better cater to community needs.
Looking ahead, we’ll be offering a Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) course starting soon. This is a great pathway for any parents looking to become more involved with water safety or support Nippers in a more hands-on way. More info on this below.
Thanks again to everyone who helped get this program off the ground. We’re looking forward to building on it for Term 4.
Adult SRC Course
As we look to expand the off peak nipper program again in Term 4 and enhance safety for all participants, we need more qualified water safety volunteers. If you're a parent who enjoys being in the water during sessions, I highly recommend completing this course!
I've arranged a Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) course specifically for our local community. It will be run by experienced club trainers who are also Inverloch locals, making it a great opportunity to upskill in a supportive environment.

- In-Person Sessions:
- Sunday, April 27th: 10AM – 4PM

SLSA Volunteer Satisfaction Survey
You may receive a message from SLSA encouraging you to complete the national volunteer satisfaction survey. This year, for the first time, SLSA will be adopting the national Surf Life Saving Volunteer Satisfaction Survey. Moving forward SLSA will alternate between the LSV Member Survey and the SLS Volunteer Satisfaction Survey each year. SLSA will use the results of these surveys to help them better understand and improve the experience of volunteers across the organisation. The results of these surveys provide great insights and are just as important for our club as they are for them. ISLSC encourages you to be open and honest when taking the time to complete the survey.
