A big shoutout to everyone who joined us for our recent Presentation Night. It was a fantastic chance to celebrate our members’ outstanding contributions and reflect on the season’s successes. Congrats to all our award winners—you’re a true testament to our club’s spirit.
Looking ahead to the 2024/2025 season, I encourage you to get involved in our training programs and competitions. Keep an eye out for updates on our Nippers program too—we’ll need your help!
Your input and involvement will be vital as we gear up for the next season. Let’s continue striving for excellence and positively impacting our community.
Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. See you around the club soon.
Best Regards,
Glenn Arnold

Presentation Night
The Easter holidays brought about our annual presentation night, during which we celebrated the amazing work and effort our members undertook both on and off the beach. Thank you to all who came to acknowledge these members and for an amazing night.
Last Patrol of the Season
Last weekend marks the end of our patrolling season for 2023/24. This has been an outstanding summer with increased patroller numbers and our volunteers attending numerous first aid and rescues and continually undertaking preventative actions to keep our beach safe for all. Thank you to our 4 Patrol captains, Warren Cook, Xavier Korbel/Finley Withers, Millie Gallagher/Josh Robinson and Brydie Smith, and the patrol leadership team that has supported each patrol across the season.
End-of-Season Survey
Please see the ‘End of Season Patrol Survey’ – your chance to share your interest in patrolling next season, give us feedback on this past season feedback, and share your thoughts and insights.
This survey is mandatory for all active members who wish to patrol next season. Your responses will help us in:
- Assembling Patrol structure and teams
- Creating the Patrol Roster for 24/25 season
- Identifying leadership interest and knowledge gaps
- Planning training needs for the coming season
Your participation is crucial! Please take a few moments to complete the survey using the link below:
It only takes max 10 minutes, and not all questions are mandatory. Your input will shape our club’s decisions for the coming season. Thank you for your commitment!
For any questions or concerns, reach out to us at patrolmanager@islsc.org.au.

Training
Although summer is sadly over, Inverloch Trainers have still been hard at work, delivering three more courses over the last month. Our Adult Bronze course ran over two weekends with 14 new Bronzies to hit patrol. We also ran another IRB course over the Easter holidays with 10 new crews and drivers upskilling, further strengthening our patrols. Our first SRC course in partnership with Bass Coast College ran over three days at the end of March and we are excited for that relationship to continue in the future. A massive thank you to all of the incredible trainers who give up their time to not only make these courses run, but make them an incredible experience for the candidates.

IRB Race Team Training in Full Swing
In preparation for the upcoming TRE Motorsport IRB Premiership Series, our race team has been working hard and honing their skills on the majority of the weekends since the new year. This competition season has a new feel about it, with some of our younger members pairing up after recently obtaining their IRB Drivers.
David Morris has been doing a fantastic job keeping the team’s skills up to date as our coach. Of course there’s always admin and logistics going on behind the scenes- thank you to Brydie Smith for staying on top of that. Enjoy some pictures from one of our Team’s training below.
IRB Racing Round 1 Cancelled
Our team was incredibly disappointed to hear that the TRE Motorsport IRB Premiership Series Round 1, scheduled for 6 & 7 April at Mordialloc, was cancelled. LSV made this decision due to other clubs not supplying their required official and/or safety personnel. Whilst Inverloch was able to meet their support personnel requirements, we are always on the lookout for more help. If you want more info, please shoot me a message at competition@islsc.org.au. No IRB, Bronze Medallion or other lifesaving qualifications are required.
Upcoming LSV Sport:
- TRE Motorsport IRB Premiership Series Round 2, 27-28 Apr @ Hampton
- TRE Motorsport IRB Premiership Series Round 3, 5 May @ Lorne
- TRE Motorsport IRB Premiership Series Round 4, 18-19 May @ Ocean Grove
- TRE Motorsport IRB Premiership Series Round 5, 2 June @ Anglesea
- Victorian IRB Championships, 14-16 June @ Lorne
If you are planning to attend one of these events, feel free to shoot me a message for some more information or tips about the best times to watch our team!
