Hey Team,
As we move into the quieter months, it’s a great time to reflect on the season so far and look ahead to what’s next. March was another busy month for the club, with some fantastic highlights. We saw James and Mathias proudly represent us at the State Championships—well done to both! Off-Peak Nippers continues to educate local children, giving our youngest members more opportunities to build their skills and confidence in the water. We also marked International Women’s Day, celebrating the incredible women who contribute so much to our club and the lifesaving community.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to see the return of the Active April competition, encouraging everyone to stay engaged and active as the cooler months approach. A reminder to all members to stay vigilant, as there have been recent thefts in the area—let’s look out for each other and keep our club safe.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers for your ongoing efforts, whether on the beach, at training, or behind the scenes. As things quiet down, now is a great time to think about how you can stay involved, whether that’s through training, social events, or lending a hand with club initiatives.
See you around the club!

Operations Update
Patroller Of The Month – February
Congratulations Jake Hetrelezis for being awarded February patroller of the month!
Jake has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and maturity amongst both rostered and volunteered patrols. He is always happy to lend a hand when needed and goes above and beyond helping out in all aspects of club activities. Jake is being recognised as a strong leader who demonstrates exemplary attitude and leadership amongst his peers and younger lifesavers. Well done Jake.
Congratulations to the other hard working patrollers this month, who were nominated for this award; Mahni Hardy-Smith, Maddy Smith and Hunter Graham.

Competition Update
IRB
As the Competition Coordinator, I’m excited to share some fantastic news as we prepare for the upcoming IRB race season! Our dedicated athletes have been hard at work refining their skills in both driving and crewing the IRB, focusing on precise techniques essential for success on race day. Nearly every weekend, our training sessions are packed with energy, as members are keen to learn from Coach David Morris and other competitors, helping to near perfect their performance.
Having so many new members join us compared to last season has been a tremendous boost for our club! It’s wonderful to see fresh faces eager to learn and contribute to our team dynamic, and their enthusiasm is exactly what we need more of.
Summer Competition
Let’s also celebrate the impressive achievements of our star competitors, James and Mathias, who recently excelled at the States Summer Carnival held at Warrnambool SLSC. James claimed an impressive 3rd place in the 2km run, 5th place in beach flags and finished 5th in the 100m sprint, showcasing his incredible talent. Mathias shined as well, securing 4th place in the challenging 2km run and 10th in the surf swim. Their teamwork was evident as they paired up to finish 4th in the 2x 1km run relay. Well done.
The impressive participation levels we’ve seen, particularly with the upcoming IRB races and our involvement at the State Summer Carnival, are fantastic for our club and competitors. This engagement strengthens our club and fosters a competitive environment beneficial to all participants. Once again congratulations to James and Mathias and good luck to our future athletes ahead of the IRB season.

Off-Peak Nippers: A Strong Start to the Season
The first two weeks of Off-Peak Nippers are done and dusted, with 40 participants getting involved in skill-building and water confidence sessions. It’s been great to see our young members back on the beach, making the most of the program in a supportive and relaxed setting.
A huge thank you to the parents who have volunteered their time to help run sessions—it’s been a real team effort, and we couldn’t do it without you.
With plenty more to come, we’re looking forward to seeing how our Nippers continue to develop over the rest of the program!
First Aid Support At Tylers Childers
It was fantastic to see five of our members putting their lifesaving first aid skills into practice at the Tyler Childers concert in Korumburra. It’s always great to see these skills being used beyond the beach, showing just how valuable they can be in everyday situations. If you have your ARTFA, look out for future opportunities like this (and if you don’t, look out for courses!). Well done to everyone involved!
Club Security Reminder
Inverloch is currently experiencing higher than usual crime rates, including thefts. We would like to encourage all members to avoid leaving valuables at the club. We also would like to remind everyone to leave Clubhouse doors locked and closed, remember to bring your fob, and avoid letting people you don’t know into secure areas.
