Protecting Our Community Every Summer
At Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club (ISLSC), our volunteer patrollers dedicate their weekends to keeping our coastline safe.
Every season, these trained lifesavers deliver first aid, perform rescues when required and educate the public ensuring everyone can enjoy the beach safely.
We’re so proud to provide a safe environment and encourage an inclusive, welcoming club culture that support everyone.

Lifeguards
Lifeguards will be patrolling Inverloch Beach;
– Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings from 22 December 2025 through to 6 February 2026, excluding public holidays.
– During this period, services will operate with a minimum of two lifeguards plus an extra lifeguarded when needed, with patrol hours running 10:00–18:00 on weekdays and 10:00–13:00 on Saturdays.
About Lifeguards:
During the school holidays, Life Saving Victoria (LSV) Paid Lifeguards patrol Inverloch Beach on weekdays. They operate in partnership with ISLSC to ensure seven-day coverage during peak season.
New Rescue Watercraft at Inverloch
Inverloch SLSC now has two new Life Saving Victoria Rescue Watercraft (jetskis) operating from the club this summer.
These RWCs will patrol daily during peak season from 10:00am to 6:00pm, providing faster response, improved coverage of high-risk areas, and added support to our volunteer patrols and lifeguards.
All RWCs are operated by qualified and endorsed lifesavers under LSV protocols. We’re excited to strengthen our on-water capability for the season ahead.

What our Patrollers Do
Our patrollers are fully trained lifesavers who hold at least either their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) or Bronze Medallion.
- Each patrol team includes members trained in:
- Aquatic rescues and surf awareness
- First aid and CPR
- Radio communication and teamwork
- Emergency response coordination
Inverloch’s beach environment can change rapidly with tides, sandbars, and inlet currents. Our teams monitor these conditions, adjust flagged areas, and maintain constant vigilance to ensure swimmer safety.
Spot our Patrollers
When visiting Inverloch Surf Beach, it’s easy to spot our patrolling members. Here’s how you can identify them:
- Patroller Placement: Our patrollers are strategically placed between the Red and Yellow Flags to monitor our beach effectively. You’ll often find them near the water’s edge and roving along the coast line.
- Patrol Tower: Look out for our patrol tower, which serves as a central point for overseeing the entire beach.
- Uniform: Our patrollers wear distinctive Red and Yellow uniforms that make them easily recognisable. Their uniform includes bright red and yellow caps, shirts, and shorts, ensuring they stand out against the beach background. The red and yellow colours are symbolic of surf life saving and are designed to be highly visible from a distance.
Sun Safety & Community Education
ISLSC promotes both water safety and sun safety for everyone on the beach.
We support the Cancer Council’s SunSmart principles:
- Slip on protective clothing
- Slop on SPF30+ sunscreen and reapply every two hours
- Slap on a wide-brimmed hat
- Seek shade between 10AM–4PM
- Slide on sunglasses
Beach Safety and Tips for Visitors
- Swim between the red and yellow flags
- Never swim alone or at unpatrolled beaches
- Always read and follow safety signage
- Stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun
